Glocalink Singapore Pte. Ltd. has invested in Entomal Biotech Sdn. Bhd. (Head office: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; CEO/CTO: Mr. Pui Wee Kong (Vic); hereinafter “Entomal”), together with Leave a Nest Capital Co., Ltd.

Entomal is a biotechnology company that focuses on biowaste treatment and organic by-product upcycling by utilizing the larvae of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) with the vision “to promote sustainability and cost effective biowaste regeneration practices using ento-technology through an integrated system of circular economy”.

The Company has developed the Entomal Mobile Bio-Conversion System (EMBC). Housed within a compact shipping container, the EMBC harnesses the capability of BSF larvae to transform food and organic waste into valuable resources in just seven days. This innovation in decentralized organic waste management offers a sustainable and efficient solution to the growing problem of waste accumulation. By leveraging the natural abilities of BSF larvae, the EMBC system rapidly converts organic waste into nutrient-rich compost and high-quality insect protein, which can be used as a sustainable feed source for animals.

Glocalink Singapore has decided to invest in Entomal due to their shared dedication to build a sustainable society free from the issue of biowaste, linked to critical challenges such as water scarcity, climate change, deforestation, pollution, soil degradation, and biodiversity loss.

With this funding, Entomal aims to accelerate its activities by establishing a new automated plant for waste management with a focus on expanding its business and R&D capabilities.

Looking forward, Glocalink Singapore is committed to continuing its support for deep tech that solves critical issues related to bio waste research, such as reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainable agriculture, to advance science for global happiness.
